Is anyone as frustrated by these issues as I am?Įdit: The point where the Instrument Rating Checkride kept failing me, it appears to be a bug in the lesson. Some of them were fixed with altering the script with Notepad. Other lessons would have weird bugs where they wouldn't progress even though all the current task seemed to be completed. My guess was the plane took too long to go from 80 to 100 when reaching the target altitude, so I reduced my ascent rate towards the end of the climb to shorten the time needed to accelerate. I couldn't figure out what was wrong but after a dozen tries it f inally let me past that checkpoint. It would say "your rollout was too soon' but there was no roll involved, just ascent and level off. I had a similar problem with the Private Pilot Checkride where it would immediately fail after taking off to 2000 or so altitude.
I'm not sure if I want to keep trying it if the script is going potentially cause failures for unknown reasons anywhere on the task list. Looking at the lesson's task list and YouTube vids, the Checkride probably lasts close to 1 hour. This is especially frustrating because it's 20 minutes of flight wasted for each attempt. But at least a few times I'm pretty sure I was within 5 degrees of 339.
Some of the attempts I think I was too far off the heading because I was trying to line up the VOR course. But I've repeated this about 6 times now and it keeps failing at that exact point. My best guess is maybe my heading wasn't accurate enough at the transition point. It will list every single criteria as failed without saying which one triggered the failure.
After passing the first VOR beacon, climbing and leveling out, and reaching 5 nm on the DME, it says I failed.
